At DeCou Sports Chiropractic in Bozeman, Montana we like to use the foam roller to keep our muscles happy. Try using a foam roller for extension and mobility in the thoracic spine!
First, thread your fingers behind your neck. Position the foam roller on you upper back. In small sections stretch over the roller slowly and extend your spine to release tension, help posture and mobility.
Be sure not to roll or extend on the roller below your rib cage!!!
When bending over the foam roller for extension in the upper back you should not continue past the rib cage. Why?
Because (low back) lumbar foam rolling with extension is a mechanism of injury for chronic low back pain. ⚡️🚫
Keep those foam rollers in your thoracic spine 😃🙌🏼
This is a good thing to have (or make) for your office or home. Keep one under your desk and every time you need a quick break from your computer, roll out those tight muscles. It will help relieve stress in the back, keep your posture on point, and keep you happy and healthy!
