There are many techniques that Dr. DeCou uses that require only a simple tension to create a solid core workout. Using a sturdy anchor point, one that you can trust, attach the band and give it some tension. Start small if you need to and work up to a comfortable tension on the band.
Focus on keeping your body straight and not letting your core twist as you move the band forward and back. This is a smaller band with about a quarter stretch. The band may want to pull you over, and if you can resist it, than keep it up, if not, loosen the tension.
Be sure to turn around and do the same thing on the other side with about equal stretch to keep your workouts balanced. Never do more than you are comfortable with.
These kinds of workouts are great for gaining on your stability, which in turn will help your mobility. Keeping both your stability and mobility up will keep you out of our office and out on the range.
